President Museveni Launches Sebei Industrial Hub to Empower Youth.

During the launch, President Museveni emphasized the importance of equipping young people with practical skills to enhance their livelihoods and integrate them into the money economy. “This hub is doing a great job in imparting skills. Whether it’s factory work, baking, or ICT, these are all pathways to wealth,” he stated.

The Sebei Industrial Hub offers vocational training in various trades, including welding, tailoring, carpentry, hairdressing, bricklaying, and electrical installation. Graduates from these programs will receive Uganda Vocational Qualifications Level One certificates, which are internationally recognized and equivalent to Uganda’s Certificate of Education.

New Sebei Industrial Hub Aims to Transform Youth Empowerment

President Museveni highlighted plans to introduce common user facilities equipped with advanced machinery to further enhance productivity. He also announced intentions to decentralize Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations (SACCOs) to district levels for improved accessibility and financial support.

In his address, Museveni reiterated the government’s commitment to free primary and secondary education through the Universal Primary Education (UPE) and Universal Secondary Education (USE) programs. He stressed that charging school fees in government schools is unacceptable as it hinders children’s access to education.

Reflecting on the National Resistance Movement’s vision for economic empowerment, Museveni encouraged Ugandans to embrace commercial agriculture and industries as pillars of wealth creation. Local leaders praised the hub as a beacon of hope for youth and women in the region, emphasizing its potential impact on socio-economic transformation.
