Abitex Claims Jail Time Might Be What Alien Skin Needs to Change.

Kampala, Uganda - Following the remand of controversial singer Alien Skin to Luzira Prison over allegations of phone theft, music promoter Abitex, whose real name is Abbey Musinguzi, has shared his thoughts on the growing misconduct within the Ugandan music industry. In an interview with Sanyuka TV, Abitex emphasized that the current chaos in the industry is a reflection of past behaviors exhibited by artists like Bobi Wine, Bebe Cool, and Chameleone, albeit to a lesser extent.

Abitex did not hold back in his criticism of Alien Skin, accusing him of being disrespectful and engaging in theft and troublemaking. He pointed out that many promoters are now facing financial struggles due to Alien Skin’s actions, particularly those based in the diaspora who have ceased working with him altogether.

“Alien Skin frequently skips shows, arrives late, misses flights, or causes cancellations, leaving promoters to suffer big losses,” Abitex stated. He also noted that while Alien Skin has had several encounters with law enforcement, police have been hesitant to take action against him due to his unruly entourage and connections to the ruling party.

Despite expressing doubts about the credibility of Alien Skin’s accuser—pointing out their history of making allegations against various artists—Abitex concluded that if jail time is what it takes for Alien Skin to reform his behavior, then so be it. As discussions about accountability in the music industry continue, many are left wondering how such incidents can be prevented in the future.
