During the fundraising drive, Nekesa emphasized the transformative potential of government programs such as the Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga, encouraging the congregation to integrate these initiatives with their talents to combat poverty. She highlighted that these programs can provide essential resources for community upliftment when effectively utilized.

Nekesa revealed that Shs 10 million was mobilized from her colleagues at the NRM Secretariat, while she personally contributed Shs 5 million as seed funding for the Busia Pastors’ Forum. This collective effort included contributions from senior NRM officials, demonstrating a unified dedication to uplifting communities through faith and development initiatives.
In her address to the congregation, Nekesa stated, “You cannot be a true believer or worshipper unless you have money in your pocket,” urging residents to engage in practical ventures such as poultry and goat farming to achieve sustainable income. Her personal journey from Busia to national leadership served as an inspiration for community members, reinforcing the message of self-reliance and ownership of development.
