Singer Ibrahim Mayanja, popularly known as Big Eye, has opened up about his role in the events following the passing of Ssegirinya Muhammad, a prominent National Unity Platform (NUP) member. In an exclusive interview, Big Eye shared that he was among the first to arrive in Masaka to help manage the situation on the ground. He revealed that early in the morning on the day of Ssegirinya’s passing, there were attempts to move his body, which Big Eye claims were orchestrated by individuals connected to Mathias Mpuuga.
According to Big Eye, he arrived in Masaka at around 5:00 a.m. and quickly took charge of the situation, commanding a group of NUP supporters to prevent the unauthorized movement of Ssegirinya’s body. “I reached Masaka at around 05:00 am and I started taking charge of everything. I commanded part of the team of the boys to not allow anyone to go away with Segirinya’s body,” Big Eye explained.
The singer’s actions were reportedly in line with his commitment to ensuring that Ssegirinya’s final wishes were respected. Big Eye further stated that he believed Ssegirinya would have been proud to know that Bobi Wine and the NUP were able to fulfill many of his desires in the wake of his passing.
