Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has condemned the gruesome murder of a boda boda rider by two thugs who posed as customers over the weekend.
“[Saturday], our nation watched in shock, a video of two assailants who pretended to be passengers on a boda boda and eventually murdered the boda boda rider in the most gruesome manner- taking with them the boda boda and other items.”
“Like many people who watched it, I am yet to get to terms with how callous these human beings could be, to carry out such an act in such a grotesque manner.”
He sent condolences to the family of the deceased and the boda boda fraternity.
“I send you heartfelt condolences upon losing one of your own. I can imagine the kind of fear such a video brought to many of you who often work at night, to make that extra buck. May God help you overcome the memory of your loved one being killed in such a manner.”
Bobi Wine said this kind of cruelty in society is a reflection of a bigger problem.
“It is a reflection of a country not at peace with itself. It is our responsibility as citizens to search deeply within ourselves why and how we have come to this point, and together, find answers.”
He said it is every citizen’s hope that the criminals who carried out this heinous crime will be quickly apprehended and brought to book.
Indisciplined?
While speaking at the reading of the national budget, President Museveni called Bobi Wine an indisciplined one (artist).
“There are more disciplined people,” Museveni said during budget speech after someone in the audience suggested his name among performing artists that are set to benefit from presidential SACCO money.
“Bobi Wine is an indisciplined one, there are more disciplined people,” he added.
Kampala Central MP Muhammad Nsereko also took off a week to attack Bobi Wine until he was reminded of a video in which he enters the Magere house.

“I would like to tell my supporters and those who follow me that Yes I went there but I never entered the house I just stopped in his compound, others entered but I remained in the compound. I cannot enter in his house cause there is nothing to discuss about,” he defended himself.
Criticises Museveni on Europe tour
While on his Europe tour, Bobi Wine took off time to visit parts of the Netherlands.
“You will be amazed at the big chunks of land reserved for public parks, recreational grounds, very large highways and railways, forests, etc all accessible to the citizens of this country. The general level of organization is breath taking.”
“At every turn, my mind went back home and mehn, you can’t help but wonder what goes on in the minds of our leaders!”
He said while growing up, they had so many public spaces across Uganda- well until President Museveni and his regime sold them off, and closed the public out of the few remaining ones!
“Only a few days back, news came out that President Museveni had directed the giveaway of forestry land in Bugolobi ‘for some investment’. Now one of the most beautiful places on earth, Murchison Falls is being given out to an investor apparently to generate electricity!”
He said before long, it will be closed off to Ugandans, put under military siege and the rest will be history.
“It is as if there is a government department in charge of spotting all our nation’s treasures and making sure they are plundered. They seem to be on a mission, a mad rash to deplete all our nation’s wealth before they are done with us.”

“You see the masses of water and swamps surrounding Amsterdam and remember when minister Kahinda Otafiire wondered what a swamp was doing in town to justify the reckless give away of prime public property!”
As usual, he said, public properties have all been taken in the name of development, only to benefit a few well connected people as the ordinary Ugandan languishes in lack.
Sadly, leaders are always on the next plane visiting these countries. “You can’t understand if it is because of hatred for their country or unprecedented selfishness that they see these things, admire them but do the exact opposite in their own country!”
“What if we swapped leaders with the Netherlands, and put the leaders here in charge of Uganda while putting our leaders in charge of the Netherlands?”
“Our conclusion was that this country would be ran down in a very short time, and it would probably take 10 years for Uganda to be where these guys are or at least very close.”
