Budaka, Uganda – The Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Budaka, Nusula Nabukalu, has tragically died in a road accident along the Jinja-Iganga highway. The fatal incident occurred at Baitambogwe village, Baitambogwe Sub-county, when the vehicle she was driving, registered as UG 4803C, collided head-on with a truck bearing the registration KDH 025V.
Eyewitnesses reported that Nabukalu was traveling from the Iganga side when the collision took place. Prior to the accident, she had attended a function in Nawansinge Village, Bulamagi Sub-county, Iganga District.

The news of her death was confirmed by Faruk Kirunda, deputy press secretary to the Presidency, who expressed shock and sorrow over the tragic loss. “This is a significant loss to our community and the nation,” Kirunda stated.
Trevor Solomon Baleke, the deputy RDC of Kayunga District and a close friend of Nabukalu, described her as a genuine friend whose warm smile left a lasting impression. “Her untimely demise is a significant loss to the Presidency and the nation at large,” Baleke said.
As of this report, Nabukalu’s body remained at the scene of the accident while authorities worked to clear the area. The incident has raised concerns about road safety and traffic regulations in the region.
