Veteran Ugandan singer Catherine Kusasira has firmly ruled out the possibility of hosting a concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval, stating that the venue does not align with her brand or the expectations of her loyal fan base.
Speaking in a recent media interview, Kusasira emphasized that her supporters prefer premium venues with better security, comfort, and exclusivity. She noted that Lugogo Cricket Oval typically attracts crowds willing to pay between UGX 20,000 and UGX 30,000 for entry, whereas her fans are willing to spend significantly more for a superior concert experience.
“Lugogo Cricket Oval attracts a crowd that pays 20,000 or 30,000 UGX for concerts. My fans are different; they can spend 100,000 or even 150,000 UGX for a show at a place like Sheraton, where they feel safer and more comfortable,” Kusasira explained.
She further pointed out that security concerns at Lugogo Cricket Oval play a major role in her decision, stating that many of her fans would rather attend concerts in venues where they do not have to worry about losing their phones or personal belongings.
With this stance, Kusasira made it clear that any of her future concerts will be held at high-end venues, ruling out Lugogo Cricket Oval entirely.
