Ugandan music queens Cinderella Sanyu (Cindy) and Sheebah Karungi have been at odds for years, engaging in a heated rivalry that culminated in one of Uganda’s most anticipated music battles. However, despite their differences, Cindy has now acknowledged Sheebah’s kind-hearted nature, describing her as a “beautiful human being.”
In a recent interview, Cindy reflected on her past relationship with Sheebah, revealing that they were once very close friends.
“I know Sheebah is a beautiful human being, but we have our own issues. We were very good friends some time ago, and I understand her personally. She used to visit my place every day, bringing me different fruits while I was pregnant, and she did it for nine months.”
The rivalry between Cindy and Sheebah dates back to 2018, when fans began comparing their music careers. The tension escalated when Cindy, a self-proclaimed King of Dancehall, publicly questioned Sheebah’s vocal ability, alleging that she relied on studio edits.
Sheebah, in turn, responded with subliminal messages in interviews and songs, further fueling the tension. The situation reached its peak in 2023, when the two artists engaged in an official musical battle at Kololo Independence Grounds, an event that divided fans and sparked heated debates over who was the better performer.
Despite their well-documented rivalry, Cindy now acknowledges Sheebah’s good character, a rare moment of respect between the two stars. She emphasized that she prefers to appreciate the good in people despite their differences.
