Court Protects Mary Nambwayo’s Rights in Ongoing Property Dispute with Ssuuna Ben

The ongoing legal dispute between Ssuuna Ben and his ex-partner Mary Nambwayo has taken a new turn as the High Court has mandated that Ssuuna grant Nambwayo access to their residence in Garuga. This ruling was made on October 31 by His Worship Samuel Kagoda Ntende, who emphasized the need to safeguard Nambwayo’s rights amid their contentious property battle.

Nambwayo contends that she is a co-owner of the property located on Busiro Block 435, Plot 759 at Bukaya, claiming that both she and Ssuuna Ben contributed to its acquisition and development. Despite repeated requests from Ssuuna for her to leave the home, Nambwayo insists on her equal ownership rights.

The court’s order restricts Ssuuna Ben from engaging in any activities that could jeopardize the property’s ownership status. Specifically, he is barred from actions such as selling or transferring the title, constructing on the property, or evicting Nambwayo and her children. This interim measure will remain until a resolution is reached regarding the temporary injunction application.
