Dancehall Artist Ziza Bafana Officially Joins NRM, Ending Political Ambivalence.

After nearly two years of vacillating political support, dancehall musician Ziza Bafana has formally aligned himself with Uganda’s ruling party, the National Resistance Movement (NRM). The announcement came during President Yoweri Museveni’s music album launch event at Speke Resort Munyonyo, where Bafana was featured among prominent artists openly supporting the government.

In a press briefing, Bafana expressed his appreciation for the President’s support of the arts industry, citing Museveni’s contributions as a pivotal reason for his allegiance. “I have always advocated for the betterment of musicians. The President has supported us as an industry, and I appreciate him. I will always be there for the National Resistance Movement,” he affirmed. His shift to the NRM fold marks a significant realignment in Uganda’s music-politics intersection, which has seen artists actively shaping political discourse.
