Kampala, Uganda – Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz has officially confirmed the exit of his signee Mbosso from Wasafi Records, marking another significant departure from the label. Mbosso, whose real name is Mbwana Yusuf Kilungi, joined Wasafi in 2018 and has been one of its most successful artists. Reports of his exit had circulated for some time, and Diamond has now stated that the transition is in its final stages.

In a recent statement, Diamond emphasized that discussions regarding Mbosso’s departure had been amicable. “Tumekua na mazungumzo mazuri na @mbosso namna ya kuanza rasmi sasa kusimamia kazi zake na tumekamilisha jambo letu vizuri sana,” he said, urging fans to disregard any negative rumors surrounding the situation. According to Baba Levo, a close associate of Diamond, Mbosso will be allowed to leave without any financial demands, a decision made out of respect for both Mbosso and Wasafi’s leadership.
Mbosso’s exit follows a trend of artists leaving Wasafi Records, including notable names like Harmonize, Rayvanny, and Rich Mavoko. Unlike some previous exits that were marked by controversy, Mbosso has expressed a desire to leave on good terms, ensuring there is no animosity between him and the label.
