Educationists Critique Government’s Plan to Feed Learners Amid Concerns.

Critics argue that while the intention behind the feeding program is commendable, its execution may face numerous challenges. Dr. Jane Nansubuga, an education policy analyst, pointed out that logistical issues such as supply chain management and food quality could hinder the program’s effectiveness. “Without a well-structured implementation plan, we risk wasting resources rather than benefiting our students,” she stated.

Furthermore, some educators have expressed doubts about the sustainability of the initiative, questioning whether the government can maintain consistent funding and support over time. “Feeding programs require ongoing investment and commitment; it cannot be a one-off initiative,” noted Prof. Samuel Kanyesigye, a prominent educationist.

As discussions continue, there is a call for the government to engage with education stakeholders to refine the proposal and ensure that it meets the needs of learners effectively.
