The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has handed a six-month suspension to referee William Oloya for failing to perform his duties properly during a recent Uganda Premier League (UPL) match between KCCA FC and Mbarara City. The decision follows an investigation into Oloya’s failure to accurately report key disciplinary incidents in his match report, leading to significant consequences for the involved clubs.

In the aftermath of KCCA FC’s 2-0 victory over Mbarara City, the latter filed a complaint, accusing KCCA of fielding defender Gavin Kizito Mugweri, who had accumulated three yellow cards in previous matches. According to FUFA’s ruling, Oloya had cautioned both Mugweri and another KCCA player, Emojong Anthony Okimaru, earlier in the season but failed to include these incidents in his final match report. This omission ultimately led to KCCA FC fielding a suspended player, a violation that resulted in the match being forfeited.
FUFA has also directed Oloya to undergo a refresher course on reporting, with a requirement to submit proof of completion before the end of his suspension. If he fails to do so, the suspension will continue. As part of the ruling, Mbarara City FC is awarded three points and three goals, while KCCA FC forfeits their win.
