Gen. Kale Kayihura Urges Kisoro Leaders to End Politics of Confusion.

Kisoro, Uganda – Gen. Rtd. Edward Kale Kayihura, former Inspector General of Police, has called on local leaders in Kisoro to set aside their political differences and focus on development. Speaking at the end-of-year interreligious prayers held at Shaaza playground, Kayihura emphasized that the ongoing disunity among leaders has neglected the needs of the community.

“I am calling upon our leaders to unite and work together for the development of our district. The politics of confusion must come to an end,” he stated. His remarks came in light of a recent fundraising event for the construction of the Rwinge Health Center, where some district leaders chose not to attend due to political disagreements.

Despite these challenges, the fundraising event was successful, raising over 300 million shillings, largely thanks to the participation of officials from the UPDF and the Ministry of Defense. Kayihura appealed to religious leaders, including Bishop Godfrey Mbitse of Muhabura Diocese, to guide local leaders in moving away from divisive politics.

He declared his commitment to unity and development, stating, “As a son of Kisoro, I will never be part of the politics of confusion.” This call for unity is particularly significant as Uganda approaches the 2026 elections, with tensions running high in various political arenas.
