General Muhoozi Kainerugaba Returns to Social Media.

Barely a week after deactivating his X (formerly Twitter) account, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces and First Son of Uganda, has made a dramatic return to the social media platform. At exactly 12:25 PM on January 16, 2025, Muhoozi reactivated his verified account under the handle @mkainerugaba, posting a simple yet impactful message: “I’m back.”

The account, which had been offline since January 10, quickly amassed thousands of followers within minutes of its reactivation. His sudden return has sparked widespread discussions across social media platforms, with supporters and critics alike taking note.

Unverified reports suggest that Muhoozi may have briefly posted another message before deleting it, although no official confirmation has been provided.

When he initially deactivated his account, Muhoozi cited his military duties as the primary reason for his departure. In his farewell message on January 10, he wrote, “To all my Dear followers, it has been a great whirlwind and rousing journey together on these streets for the last 10 years since 2014. However, the time has now come under the instructions and blessings of my Lord Jesus Christ to leave and concentrate on His army, the UPDF.”

Muhoozi had also hinted at a possible return, saying, “At an appropriate time… we shall always re-converge.” True to his word, his re-emergence marks the beginning of a new chapter in his dynamic and often controversial online persona.
