During an emergency meeting with agro-processing stakeholders in Gulu, Minister Akello expressed deep concern over the situation. “I have directed the investigators to investigate those people responsible for the sale of those facilities to Kenya, and they should be brought to book,” she stated firmly. The minister emphasized the substantial investment made by the government in these facilities and pledged to monitor the situation closely.

The investigation aims to uncover the individuals behind the unauthorized sales and hold them accountable. This action underscores the government’s commitment to protecting its investments in agricultural development and ensuring that resources reach their intended beneficiaries.

Brigadier General Godfrey Muwanguzi, Deputy Coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation, condemned the theft of government equipment, highlighting its impact on newly formed Parish Development Model (PDM) SACCOs that were meant to benefit from these facilities.

As the investigation unfolds, stakeholders await further developments and potential measures to prevent future misappropriation of agricultural resources.
