The news of the government’s involvement was announced by Hon. Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi, the Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs. He revealed that he alerted President Yoweri Museveni about Chameleone’s deteriorating condition. Balaam, who has a personal connection with the artist through organizing many of his concerts, expressed deep sympathy for Chameleone, stating, “He is one of my longest artists that I have promoted concerts for.”

The minister emphasized the need for Chameleone to receive expert treatment to improve his health and enable him to continue entertaining his fans. “After he gets better, we need to rehabilitate him and help him back to his feet so that he continues to release hit songs like he used to,” Balaam added.

Chameleone has been diagnosed with acute pancreatitis, a condition that has raised concerns among fans and the music community. The situation has also been complicated by allegations from his son, Abba Marcus, regarding the musician’s history of alcohol abuse. When asked about these allegations, Balaam refrained from assigning blame, stating that it was a family issue and urged the public to focus on praying for Chameleone’s recovery.
