The summit, held under the theme “Promoting Trade, Sustainable Development, Peace and Security for Improved Livelihoods,” brought together leaders from member states to reflect on the EAC’s achievements and strategize for future initiatives. President Ruto’s leadership is expected to enhance collaboration among member states as they address pressing issues affecting the region, such as economic resilience and security challenges.

In his acceptance speech, President Ruto emphasized the importance of unity and collective action in achieving sustainable development goals. He highlighted Kenya’s commitment to advancing the EAC agenda and fostering deeper integration among member states. “Together, we can build a stronger East African Community that benefits all our citizens,” he stated.
The summit also featured discussions on various projects aimed at enhancing infrastructure and trade within the region, reinforcing the EAC’s role as a vital economic bloc in Africa.
