Hon. Mubaraka Munyagwa Criticizes Irene Namubiru’s Memoir ‘My Mother Knows’

Former Kawempe South MP Hon. Mubaraka Munyagwa has publicly slammed singer Irene Namubiru following the release of her memoir, My Mother Knows. The book chronicles Namubiru’s painful childhood experiences and unresolved family trauma, sparking public debate. However, Munyagwa branded the 300-page book as “300 pages of stupidity,” urging Namubiru to remove all copies from bookstores and burn them.

Munyagwa contended that Namubiru might have been at fault, with her mother trying to correct her. He further condemned her for publicly speaking ill of her mother, labeling it an abomination and calling for those advising her to do so to be shunned. He insisted on the sanctity of motherhood, warning against disrespect and advocating for family unity.
