Singer Joseph Mayanja alias Jose Chameleone has spoken out about his recent medical treatment in the United States.
Chameleone underwent an emergency surgery at Aline Medical Hospital in Minneapolis in June after struggling with stomach issues for some time.
The surgery was successful, but Chameleone was apparently left with a large medical bill of around UGX 186 million (USD 500,000).
According to sources, Chameleone reached out to President Yoweri Museveni and Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja for help with the bill.
The President and Prime Minister intervened and helped to clear the bill, allowing Chameleone to return home to Uganda.
Chameleone has since thanked the President and Prime Minister for their support, saying that they “saved his life.”
He also said that he is now recovering well and is looking forward to returning to his music career.
