Kalifa Aganaga, born on March 13, 1990, in Kabowa, a suburb of Kampala, grew up under the care of his single mother. Despite facing challenges early in life, including the passing of his father, he managed to excel academically and attended Kawanda Secondary School, where he completed his O and A Levels. His formative years in Kampala have influenced much of his music, which blends various African genres and has earned him a dedicated fanbase across Uganda.

After making his debut in the music scene in 2012, when he used $400 from his brother to record his first single, “Mina Konda,” Kalifa Aganaga quickly rose to prominence. His talent was discovered by talent manager Emma Carlos from TWINKLE Star Agency, which played a pivotal role in his breakthrough. He soon released a platinum album with three major hit singles, including “Mina Konda.” His fusion of Afrobeat, Zouk, and Dancehall set him apart, and his music videos and performances became popular on both radio and TV.
