Kalifah Aganaga Claims Nalukoola is Too Old for Kawempe North MP Position.

Kampala, Uganda – Musician and politician Kalifah Aganaga has made a bold statement regarding his rival in the upcoming Kawempe North by-election, Elias Nalukoola, asserting that the latter is too old to effectively serve as the Member of Parliament for the area. Aganaga, who is contesting the seat on the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) ticket, expressed his belief that Kawempe North needs youthful leadership and that Nalukoola’s age disqualifies him from the position.

In a recent interview with Sanyuka Television, Aganaga confidently dismissed Nalukoola as a threat to his campaign, saying, “Kawempe belongs to the youth, like me. Nalukoola is too old for the position. It was a mistake for NUP to give him the party ticket. I believe it should have gone to a younger candidate, which would have created real competition. But now, I don’t have any, and I will be the sole winner.”

Aganaga’s comments reflect his belief in the importance of younger representation in Parliament, and he positioned himself as the ideal candidate to represent the youthful aspirations of Kawempe North. The by-election, which will take place on March 13, 2025, is expected to see Aganaga facing off against a crowded field that includes NUP’s Elias Nalukoola, NRM’s Farida Nambi, and other independent candidates.

Kalifah Aganaga’s campaign has gained traction among young voters who seek a representative they feel truly understands their needs. His criticisms of Nalukoola and his emphasis on youth leadership are central themes of his bid for the Kawempe North MP position.
