Kampala – The Katikkiro of the Buganda Kingdom, Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga, has commended several rising musicians for their promising contributions to Uganda’s music industry while cautioning them to avoid drama and violence. He made these remarks while attending Spice Diana’s highly successful concert at Serena Hotel Kampala.
During his address, Mayiga mentioned Ava Peace, Nandor Love, and Dax Vibez as standout talents from 2024 whose artistry has revived his faith in the local music scene.
“There are a couple of rising artists that have restored our faith in music. The likes of Ava Peace, Nandor Love, and Dax Vibez among others,” he stated.
He emphasized that musicians should view their craft as a professional career and avoid the pitfalls of conflict that have marred the reputations of many.
“They have promise if they decide to focus on music as a profession. We just urge them to avoid violence or they risk failing in their sector,” Mayiga warned
His speech resonated with the ongoing efforts by cultural leaders to promote discipline and professionalism in Uganda’s entertainment industry.
