Kampala, Uganda – Theatre drama actress Mariam Bukenya, known by her stage name Ketra, has dismissed rumors alleging a romantic involvement with Mr. Katende, the boss of the Ebonies. The speculation arose following her public outcry about being excluded from the Ebonies’ 47th-anniversary celebrations, which took place at Kampala Serena Hotel.
In a recent statement, Ketra expressed her disappointment over not being recognized at the anniversary event, where she has been a prominent figure for nearly 20 years. “I have been part of the Ebonies for so long, and it was disheartening not to be included in such a significant celebration,” she said.

Ketra used this opportunity to clarify her status with the Ebonies, stating that she has not resigned and remains a member as long as Mr. Katende is at the helm. “If it is Mr. Katende still the head of the Ebonies, I am still part of the group,” she affirmed. However, she indicated her willingness to leave if leadership changes occur.
Amidst these developments, Ketra is also preparing for the release of her latest movie series titled “8 Years in the Shadow of Love,” showcasing her continued commitment to her craft despite recent controversies.
