Musician King Saha has continued to voice his criticism of the Ugandan government while offering a stern message to Members of Parliament (MPs) from the National Unity Platform (NUP). King Saha, who has long been a vocal supporter of NUP leader Bobi Wine, urged the party’s MPs to be more dedicated to protecting Bobi Wine’s votes in the upcoming elections, stressing the importance of unity and preparedness as the 2026 presidential election approaches.
In a passionate address to the press and NUP party members at the party headquarters on Thursday, King Saha called on NUP MPs to protect Bobi Wine’s votes with the same commitment they show to protecting their own. “As usual, my message goes directly to the Members of Parliament of NUP. This time, I urge you all to protect my President’s votes just as you protect your own. Guard them jealously, build strong teams to help you do that early enough, prepare them, and make them ready for the task,” King Saha said.

The singer emphasized the importance of early organizing and the establishment of robust teams to ensure that Bobi Wine’s votes are secure during the 2026 election. He expressed concern that the NUP MPs may not be taking the election preparation as seriously as necessary, which could undermine their efforts to unseat President Museveni.
King Saha’s comments reflect his growing frustration with a perceived lack of focus within the NUP. Last November, he publicly criticized some NUP leaders for betraying the cause of the party and Bobi Wine’s leadership. He specifically accused some MPs of becoming more concerned with their personal survival than with the party’s goal of removing the long-standing government of President Museveni. “You betrayed our cause. You Members of Parliament have lost focus; you forgot what took you to parliament. In the long run, you have betrayed us and our President,” he passionately declared.
King Saha’s message to NUP MPs is a stark reminder that the stakes are high for the 2026 elections, and every vote matters. He warned that any betrayal of the cause would not go unnoticed, and he cautioned that consequences await those who do not put the party’s mission first. As the election year draws closer, it remains to be seen whether his words will resonate with the NUP MPs or if internal divisions will continue to threaten the unity of the opposition.
