Laika Music, born Laika Umuhoza, has finally addressed long-standing rumors about her relationship with Tanzanian music star Harmonize. In a recent media interview, the rising star set the record straight, clarifying that their connection was purely professional.
“We just had a project. It was just business. It was not like a relationship,” Laika stated firmly. She described Harmonize as being “like a brother” to her, emphasizing that there were no romantic ties. Laika explained that she spent two weeks in Tanzania, residing at a hotel where Harmonize would visit for music sessions.
"He used to come, then we record some music, then after he goes back," she said.
Despite their collaboration, Laika revealed that the music they worked on remains unreleased due to Harmonize’s hectic schedule. She also disclosed that they had met through a mutual friend three years before the public even became aware of their friendship.
Laughing off breakup rumors, Laika stated there was no relationship to end. “There was never a relationship to break up from in the first place,” she concluded.
