Luwemba Accuses Nalukoola of Bribing Segirinya’s Widows with UGX 20 Million.

In the latest political controversy surrounding the Kawempe North MP race, aspiring candidate Alex Luwemba Luswa has accused his opponent, NUP-endorsed Nalukoola, of bribing the widows of the late Muhammad Segirinya with UGX 20 million to secure their endorsement.

NUP-endorsed Nalukoola,

The allegations come shortly after a televised event in which Segirinya’s widows, through their representative Twayira Akandiida, announced their support for Nalukoola, stating that he is the only candidate capable of fulfilling Segirinya’s political agenda.

Akandiida emphasized the widow’s stance, saying, “Nalukoola is the one we are supporting because he is the one endorsed by the party our husband wholeheartedly supported and believed in. He is capable of accomplishing the agenda.”

However, Luwemba has now challenged this endorsement, claiming that it was financially influenced. “I have been told they were given UGX 20 million for that endorsement, but there were only four of them. Segirinya left behind nine widows, and the other five are behind me,” he asserted.

Despite the allegations, Luwemba remains confident in his campaign, stating that the majority of Segirinya’s family supports his candidature and that the endorsement of four widows will not deter him from contesting for the MP seat.
