Kampala – Prominent traditional healer and community leader Maama Fiina has disclosed her detailed burial instructions, emphasizing her wish to avoid the chaos and exploitation often associated with funerals. Speaking candidly with her eldest daughter, Fiina, she outlined her preferences to ensure a peaceful and respectful ceremony.
Maama Fiina, a mother of three, highlighted that her children, whom she considers her pillars in life, are entrusted with her final wishes. Fiina, her eldest, has been chosen to oversee these plans due to her maturity and understanding.
“I want people to eat and drink as they like. I’m not one to be treated harshly. Whatever I have told Fiina when I’m alive is what she will do when I die,” she stated.
She expressed concern over current trends where funerals are often marred by insincerity, political opportunism, and unnecessary rituals. Maama Fiina warned politicians against attending her funeral for personal mileage, saying:
“No politician will come crying with one eye while the other keeps looking. Just inform them everything is planned and underway.”
Additionally, she firmly instructed against family members exploiting her funeral for financial gain or attention. “No family member should come crying out loud and making unnecessary requests to the mourners. I don’t like nonsense on my funeral,” she added.
In a final note, she opposed the use of rituals or herbs involving her body. “I don’t want to be moved to places where other people might even put herbs in my body or perform any rituals,” she emphasized
