Mathias Mpuuga Stands by Alien Skin Amid Controversy.

Kampala, Uganda – Mathias Mpuuga, the National Coordinator for the Democratic Alliance (DA), has expressed unwavering support for dancehall artist Patrick Mulwana, popularly known as Alien Skin, following a week filled with controversy surrounding the musician. Alien Skin has recently been in the headlines not for his music but for his involvement in altercations, including a confrontation with security personnel and a clash with fellow artist Pallaso at the Empele Festival.

During a press conference, Mpuuga defended Alien Skin against criticism from political analysts who questioned his association with the artist due to his troubled history. “We have so many allies with different characters. We are alive to their situations, which is why as leaders, we cannot ignore these young people. These are young and talented people,” Mpuuga stated.

He emphasized that society has overlooked artists like Alien Skin, which has contributed to their reckless behavior. “They have been ignored by society. In fact, their exhibition over the week is a confirmation of the fact that they have been ignored and therefore they have chosen their own way,” he added.

Mpuuga assured that the DA would not abandon individuals based on their past actions but instead focus on rehabilitating them. He cited previous instances where individuals with similar backgrounds have turned their lives around and become valuable members of society.

The DA’s cooperation agreement with Alien Skin aims to promote democratic values and inclusivity, highlighting Mpuuga’s commitment to supporting young talent regardless of their past controversies.
