Late Nights EP by Moray Official

In 2013, Ugandan Singer and song Writer Innocent Abigaba alias Moray Official’s career began when he enrolled himself at Kampala Music School to study guitar and music theory. He was inspired by Maurice Kirya, Micheal Kiwanuka and Oliver Mtukudzi Music. His music and guitar skills paid him off when TALENT WALLS signed him, which helped him to release his Extended Play (EP), entitled LATE NIGHTS.

Late Nights is a series of 5 love expressions inspired by Moray Official’s love life between 2018 and 2022. These were imaginatively recounted with amazing production mostly brought to life late in the nights hence the title Late Nights.

Recording sessions started and production on the EP was handled by several producers, including: Dary Hits, Sean Pro, Bomba made my Beat, Kwills and Lex Logic.the five love songs are;

Onzizaamu Amaanyi”. Moray Official is appreciative to his lover for teaching him how to love and for being there for them through thick and thin.

“Oli Mumbejja”. It is an expression of love towards the love of his life. It was born at the time when he was ready to take their relationship to the next level for the princess she was to him if only she could say yes.

“Bagamba Sikusanila”. The society expresses questions termed as “olumbe lwobwaavu” meant to mean a poor mindset towards love relationships against their beautiful love relationship due to educational and financial differences. But no matter what they say Moray Official promises to be true to her.

Naawe” There so many ups and downs in relationships and the best way to resolve them is through communication.

Emmergency”. It is a reflection of light at the end on the tunnel. Allows your heart to let go for new love to come in and be confident to express how to your partner and how they make you feel.

The EP also features Uganda’s best flamenco guitar player Afro-menco Marshal who describes his style as Afromenco Jazz. He has played the guitar with Qwela Band, Code 9 and for artistes such as Jose chameleon, Bebe Cool, Joanita Kawalya and Irene Ntale.

Moray Official’s Lyrical Content revolves around themes of Peace, Love and Resiliency.
