Kampala, Uganda – Hajat Sharifa Buzeki, the newly appointed Executive Director of the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), has pledged to address two of Kampala’s most pressing issues: traffic congestion and waste management. During her oath-taking ceremony, Buzeki outlined plans to digitalize public transport to reduce traffic jams and promote waste-to-energy solutions.

She also emphasized the need to optimize traffic flow studies and conduct education campaigns to improve waste management practices in the city. Additionally, Buzeki aims to strengthen the urban planning directorate and reduce the time taken to process building permits.
