Ugandan singer and performer Nina Kankunda, popularly known as Nina Roz, has officially launched her campaign for the Sembabule Woman Member of Parliament (MP) seat ahead of the 2026 general elections. Her announcement came early Friday morning through bold and symbolic campaign posters unveiled on social media, featuring herself and NUP President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, alias Bobi Wine.

The posters prominently showcase the red color and umbrella symbol, indicating her strong allegiance to the National Unity Platform (NUP), Uganda’s leading opposition party. By choosing to include Bobi Wine’s portrait on her campaign material, Nina Roz is positioning herself not only as a political aspirant but also as part of the wider generational struggle for change. The posters read with strong messaging geared toward unity, youth engagement, and a better Sembabule.

Her move is seen as both daring and strategic in a region historically known for deep-rooted loyalty to the ruling party. Nina Roz is walking a path few musicians have dared to follow this early, setting a precedent for artist-led activism.
