Ugandan promoter Nobart Events has issued a legal warning to Jenipher Nakangubi, alias Full Figure, over defamatory remarks he claims led to financial losses and damage to his reputation.
Nobart, known as a “generational promoter”, asserts that Full Figure’s comments about his recent concert discouraged attendance, causing him losses amounting to UGX 250 million.
“I am taking Full Figure to court over her defamatory comments against my business. She threatened people, and many didn't turn up for my concert. My brand was affected by her slanderous comments because many people didn’t attend because of such remarks. I want UGX 250 million from her,” Nobart explained in an interview with Bukedde Television.

Days before the highly anticipated Alien Skin concert, Full Figure made public statements urging Ugandans to boycott the event. She alleged that attending the concert could put people’s lives at risk, citing claims of:
- Rape allegations involving members of Fangone Forest.
- Severe beatings associated with the crew.
- A threatening environment for concertgoers.
These statements, according to Nobart, spread fear among fans, resulting in a low turnout at the event.
Following the financial setback, Nobart has vowed to drag Full Figure to court, seeking compensation for damages and a public apology.
Legal experts note that Nobart could file a defamation suit under Ugandan law, which could require Full Figure to prove her allegations or risk financial penalties.
Full Figure, a well-known artist manager and political activist, has a reputation for making controversial statements. However, her influence in the entertainment industry is significant, making her remarks impactful.
This case has sparked mixed reactions from the public, with some supporting Nobart’s legal action, while others believe Full Figure was exercising her freedom of speech.
As Nobart Events prepares to take legal action, the case highlights the power of public statements in shaping events and businesses. Whether the court will rule in his favor or Full Figure will defend her statements, the entertainment industry is keenly watching how this battle unfolds.
