“Uganda is built on the motto For God and My Country, which places our nation on a firm, God-fearing foundation. It is a shining light in Africa, resisting the importation of foreign cultures,” Bugingo said.

Highlighting Museveni’s tenure, Bugingo commended his strong leadership, attributing the nation’s stability and cultural preservation to the president’s governance. He criticized unnamed presidential aspirants, asserting that Museveni would never hand over power to what he described as a “fake president.”

Bugingo warned against candidates who might promote ideologies and practices he claims could harm Uganda’s traditional values, such as drug use and foreign influences.

“President Museveni knows the importance of our moral compass. He would not entrust Uganda to someone who undermines our values,” he declared.

The pastor also praised the Museveni family, specifically mentioning Patience Rwabogo, one of the president’s daughters, for her role as a pastor and moral leader.

The comments have sparked discussions about religious leaders’ roles in political discourse as the Electoral Commission begins updating the National Voters Register. Bugingo’s endorsement reflects the complex relationship between faith and politics in Uganda.
