Kampala, Uganda – The police in Kampala have launched an investigation following a tragic incident where Florence Taka, the wife of former Minister Julius Maganda, was killed in a road accident. The incident occurred on February 2, 2025, along the Kiwologoma-Nakwero road in Wakiso district.
According to Michael Kananura, the spokesperson for Traffic Police, the accident involved a Toyota Harrier in which Taka was a passenger and a Toyota Premio driven by a policeman, Constable Wilber Nuwagaba. Eyewitnesses reported that Taka had stepped out of the Harrier to load food items purchased from a nearby stall when the Premio lost control and collided with her vehicle, pinning her between the two cars.
Despite being rushed to the hospital, Taka succumbed to her injuries. The police have since towed both vehicles to Kira Division Police Station for inspection as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
