Recho Rey to Launch Charity Initiative for Street Children, Aims to Make a Difference.

Ugandan rapper Recho Rey is set to launch a charity initiative focused on supporting street children and underprivileged communities. The initiative, which kicks off in March 2025, is a personal project born out of her desire to help those struggling with harsh living conditions. While she acknowledges that her resources are limited, she remains committed to making a meaningful impact.

Recho Rey has always been vocal about social issues, and her decision to venture into philanthropy reflects her deep concern for the less fortunate. She revealed that conversations with various people encouraged her to start this project, even on a small scale.

 “I have been speaking to different people, and they are open to the idea. We are planning on starting this coming month, in March. It won’t be big since I don’t have a lot of money, but I’ll do the little I can,” she stated.

The charity initiative will prioritize providing basic necessities such as food, clothing, and hygiene supplies to street children. Recho Rey also hopes to create awareness about the challenges these children face daily, using her platform to inspire others to support them.

According to recent reports, thousands of children in Uganda live on the streets, struggling to access food, education, and healthcare. Many face abuse, exploitation, and health risks. Various organizations, including NGOs and government bodies, have attempted to address the issue, but limited resources remain a challenge.

By stepping in, Recho Rey joins a growing movement of artists using their influence to effect positive change. Her initiative, while starting small, could become a significant effort if supported by fans, fellow artists, and corporate sponsors.

Recho Rey believes that artists have a responsibility beyond entertainment.
