The cremation and public viewing of veteran journalist Dr. Shaka Ssali has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Jefferson Funeral Chapel, 5755 Castlewellan Dr., Alexandria, VA 22315. The event will take place from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, allowing family, friends, and admirers to pay their last respects.
This was confirmed by NTV Uganda journalist Sudhir Byaruhanga, who is also a relative of the deceased. Byaruhanga took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce the arrangements, inviting the public to celebrate Ssali’s life and legacy.
Following the cremation, Dr. Ssali’s ashes will be transported to Uganda and other African nations in accordance with his final wishes. He had expressed his desire for his remains to be spread across the continent that he passionately covered during his illustrious journalism career.
