Uganda police spokesperson Fred Enanga, has cautioned the media practitioners to stop circulating exaggerated anti-security and anti-police stories which have caused social unrest during the weekly security press at Naguru.

” Let’s cover evidence-based news and avoid promoting panic and fear mongering”, Enanga said. This comes after incidences where the security stations in the country’s central and eastern region have been attacked over the last two months. There have been speculations of a possible new rebel group on rise by social and political analysts hence causing the panic.

Enanga has sent his condolences and sympathized with the families of the security personnel who lost their lives in the attacks staged against the security stations.

He has also warned the public against cybercrime fraudsters and conmen as they get prepared for the festive season. Concerning the FIFA World Cup security directives, Enanga has called upon the football fans, live streaming venue owners to do not let down their guards and be aware of their surroundings.
