Swangz Avenue Dismisses Employee Firing Claims, Addresses Internal Restructuring.

Swangz Avenue, one of Uganda’s leading record labels, has officially refuted claims that it fired employees amidst alleged internal turmoil. The rumors circulating in the entertainment industry suggested that the label had forced artists Winnie Nwagi and Vinka to fire their managers, with some employees allegedly being asked to re-apply for their jobs.

However, in an official statement, Julius Kyazze, the co-founder of Swangz Avenue, clarified that while some changes have taken place, no one has been dismissed.

Addressing the speculation, Kyazze explained that while the company undergoes periodic restructuring, reports of terminations are entirely false.

"True, there are some shake-ups and changes, but we haven’t fired anyone. Even reports claiming that we asked some to re-apply for their jobs are false," he stated.

He further emphasized that restructuring is a normal practice in the entertainment industry to enhance efficiency, streamline operations, and adapt to the evolving music business environment.

Unlike other labels where artists frequently part ways with their management, Swangz Avenue has maintained long-term relationships with its artists. According to Kyazze, this is due to the fair and favorable contracts the company offers to its musicians.

The record label ensures that artists receive professional management, financial backing, brand positioning, and long-term career planning—factors that prevent conflicts and abrupt exits.

Swangz Avenue remains one of Uganda’s most stable and professional record labels, with a reputation for nurturing talent and fostering long-term success. While industry restructuring is normal, the label maintains that no employees have been let go, reinforcing its commitment to fairness and professionalism.
