The Africa Peace Concert has become a symbol of unity and cultural celebration, merging the universal language of music with the mission of peace building. Hosted by the Makerere University Rotary Peace Centre, the concert not only showcases Africa’s vibrant artistic heritage but also raises critical funds to sustain peace initiatives.
Ronald Kasule, Executive Director of Dasuns and an alumnus of the Peace Centre, attended the 2023 Africa Peace Concert. The experience left an indelible mark on his peace-building journey. “The concert was more than a musical event; it was a powerful reminder of the collective spirit needed for sustainable peace,” he remarked.

The 2023 edition brought together artists, peace advocates, and global leaders to highlight the role of culture in fostering unity. It underscored how music transcends boundaries, creating a shared sense of purpose and harmony. The funds raised supported scholarships, training programs, and community initiatives spearheaded by the Peace Centre.
With the upcoming 4th edition scheduled for January 10, 2025, the concert promises to be a landmark event, calling on individuals and organisations to invest in peace. Every ticket sold contributes directly to the Centre’s mission of nurturing peace leaders and implementing impactful projects that address conflict resolution, youth empowerment, and inclusive development.
“Attending the concert is an investment in the future of peace,” Kasule emphasized. “It sustains the work of institutions that build resilience and promote justice across Africa.”
