TotalEnergies Celebrates a Decade of Educational Impact in Uganda.

Kampala, Uganda - TotalEnergies EP Uganda has launched a commemorative publication titled “10 Years of TotalEnergies EP Uganda’s Corporate Social Responsibility Scholarships,” celebrating a decade of impactful educational scholarships that have transformed the lives of youth in the Albertine region. The launch event took place at the Kampala Sheraton Hotel on November 28, highlighting the company’s commitment to supporting Uganda’s socio-economic development through education.

Since 2013, TotalEnergies has provided over 300 scholarships to youth from districts such as Buliisa, Nwoya, Pakwach, Masindi, and Nebbi. The scholarships focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education, aligning with Uganda’s industrialization goals. Among the success stories featured in the publication are notable alumni like Medical Doctor Innocent Warrom, Valuation Surveyor Julian Kevin Talemwa, and Drilling Engineer Brian Sunday. Their journeys exemplify how educational investment can lead to significant personal and community transformation.

Philippe Groueix, General Manager of TotalEnergies EP Uganda, emphasized the company’s dedication to empowering young Ugandans to excel academically and compete effectively in the job market or as entrepreneurs. “The inspiring achievements of our alumni highlight the profound impact of our initiatives,” he stated. The publication was officially launched by John C. Muyingo, the Minister of State for Education, who praised TotalEnergies for its substantial investment in STEM education.

TotalEnergies’ educational initiatives extend beyond scholarships to include internships, vocational training, and partnerships with academic institutions. These efforts align with the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility pillar on Youth Inclusion and Education and contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education).
