UNEB to Brief First Lady Janet Museveni on 2024 PLE Results.

The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) is scheduled to brief the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Kataaha Museveni, on the highly anticipated results of the 2024 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE). This briefing is set to take place on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 2:30 pm at the State Lodge in Nakasero, Kampala.

The outcome of the meeting will determine the official release date of the 2024 PLE results. UNEB officials have confirmed that the precise date will be communicated after the briefing session. This annual briefing is a critical moment for the education sector in Uganda, as the release of PLE results marks a significant milestone in the academic year.

The 2024 PLE was a notable one, with 798,763 candidates sitting for the exams, reflecting a 6.6% increase from the 2023 PLE, which had 749,374 candidates. This growth in candidate numbers highlights an ongoing trend in the rise of primary school enrollments across Uganda, which is in line with the government’s commitment to improving access to education. The examination itself serves as a pivotal transition point for students moving from primary to secondary education, and it is anticipated with much excitement by candidates, parents, and schools alike.

The increase in enrollment and the heightened anticipation surrounding the PLE results underscore the significant role that UNEB plays in shaping the future of Uganda’s education system.
