Renowned media personality and event MC Zambaali Bulasio Mukasa has reportedly been suspended from his role as a news anchor at Next Media’s NBS TV due to allegations of partisanship. Reports indicate that his suspension stems from his recent public appearance at a campaign event for the National Unity Platform (NUP) candidate, Counsel

Nalukoola, who is contesting for the Kawempe North parliamentary seat.
Zambaali was seen openly endorsing the candidate and calling upon voters to support both Nalukoola in the upcoming by-election and NUP President Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine, in the next general elections. This move, according to sources, prompted Next Media to take disciplinary action, citing a recently enforced policy of political neutrality following allegations of election interference in 2022.
The news of Zambaali’s suspension was initially reported by popular media analyst and gossip commentator Kasuku, who claimed that an inside source at Next Media confirmed the action. The suspension is said to be in place until the elections are concluded. However, other sources suggest that Zambaali had already tendered his resignation, with March 2025 set as his last month at the station, as he reportedly eyes a leadership position in Nansana Municipality under NUP.
Efforts to reach Zambaali for a comment have been unsuccessful, and Next Media has yet to release an official statement regarding the matter. If confirmed, this development could have significant implications for both the media industry and the political landscape ahead of the elections.
