Eva highlighted that dancers, even those who have gained popularity like Ritah Dancehall, have not significantly benefited from their careers despite their crucial role in enhancing musicians’ performances. “Artists should have helped us on this issue but they have forsaken us yet we are such a big deal in their careers,” she stated, emphasizing that many dancers walk away with only a day’s pay without any substantial financial security or recognition.

She proposed that if artists like Eddy Kenzo were to establish a dedicated department for dancers within their federations, it could greatly enhance the support and opportunities available to these performers. “Imagine dancers had a small department in Eddy Kenzo’s federation; it would be nice because all his songs have been popularized mostly by dancers,” Eva remarked. Her call for unity and support aims to bring attention to the often-overlooked contributions of dancers in Uganda’s vibrant music industry.
