Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire confirmed the arrest, stating, “It is true we have arrested Julius Mugabi who is currently detained at Katwe Police Station.” The arrest is linked to a violent confrontation that took place on the night of November 19, 2024, after the death of Joram Tumwesigye, a 28-year-old man who had been brought to the hospital after being crushed by a truck.

According to police reports, Alien Skin and his entourage demanded medical forms from the attending doctor following Tumwesigye’s death. When their demands were not met, they allegedly assaulted the doctor and two security guards before fleeing the scene. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of healthcare workers and the escalating violence associated with high-profile figures in Uganda.

Nsambya Hospital released a statement explaining that their medical team had promptly initiated emergency care for Tumwesigye, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. Following this tragic event, unknown individuals attacked the facility, leading to the assault on staff members.

Mugabi’s arrest marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the incident, and he is expected to undergo an identification parade before being taken to court. This incident adds to Alien Skin’s growing list of controversies and raises questions about accountability in the entertainment industry.
