Eddy Kenzo Rules Out Political Ambitions for 2026 Elections.

Kampala, Uganda - Renowned Ugandan singer Eddy Kenzo has officially dismissed speculation regarding his potential candidacy for a parliamentary seat in the upcoming 2026 elections. In a recent statement, Kenzo clarified that he has no intention of entering politics, emphasizing that he is not a politician and does not plan to run for any office.

Currently serving as the President of the Uganda Musicians Federation and a Senior Presidential Advisor on Creatives, Kenzo explained that his involvement in these roles is driven by a commitment to improve the music industry rather than a desire for political leadership. “My focus is on addressing issues within my profession, fostering unity among Ugandan musicians, and creating a better working environment for all,” he stated.

Kenzo emphasized that his current positions are about responsibility rather than ambition for leadership. He indicated that once he resolves the challenges facing the music industry, he intends to step aside and allow others to take over while he pursues different interests.

His announcement comes at a time when many artists are considering political careers, but Kenzo remains steadfast in his dedication to music and advocacy for artists’ rights without seeking political office.
