This environment ultimately led her to run away from home due to the constant beatings and emotional turmoil.

Her entry into prostitution was facilitated by a boyfriend who introduced her to bars catering to foreign clients. At Rock Garden Café on Nile Avenue, she met other girls who taught her how to navigate the trade.
