During a recent TV interview, Barugahara called for greater collective efforts to combat substance abuse and provide support for individuals struggling with addiction.

Highlighting the inspiring recovery of musician Jacky Chandiru, who has emerged as an ambassador against drug use after overcoming her own struggles, Barugahara stated: “She used to take drugs, but now she is the ambassador fighting against drug abuse in the country.” He praised her transformation and expressed hope that her story would inspire others facing similar challenges.

Barugahara emphasized that caring for those battling addiction is a daunting task due to societal apathy. “Few express concern about such situations. We have lost so many young people to addiction,” he noted, calling on communities to rally around those in need of support. He also shared his experience helping music promoter Andrew Mukasa (Bajjo) overcome alcohol dependency, showcasing his commitment to this cause.
