“I’m sorry to hear what happened to you. The government people came here. I did not come because I had gone to Arusha, but I know the problem,” President Museveni stated. He emphasized the importance of relocating families from disaster-prone mountainous areas, urging them to encourage their relatives still living in these hazardous conditions to evacuate.
The recent landslides, which buried more than 20 homes in Kimono Village, have highlighted the ongoing risks faced by residents in the region. As part of his commitment, Museveni also promised to provide 20 cows for sustenance during the festive season, further demonstrating the government’s dedication to supporting affected families.
