Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba Demands Apology from Sudan Over Inflammatory Remarks.

In a statement released on December 18, Sudan described Muhoozi’s remarks as “reckless and irresponsible,” asserting that they undermined interstate relations and violated international law. The Sudanese government demanded an apology from the Ugandan government and urged the African Union and the international community to condemn Muhoozi’s statements.

In response to these allegations, Gen. Muhoozi dismissed the claims as unfounded and reiterated his demand for an official apology. He took to X (formerly Twitter), stating, “If this letter is true and not a hoax, I want an official letter of apology to me, the UPDF, and the Republic of Uganda for this!! If they don’t…”

Despite the controversy surrounding his comments, Muhoozi has emphasized his commitment to regional peace and stability, including efforts to mediate conflicts in neighboring countries such as the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). His dual approach—combining a strong social media presence with diplomatic outreach—has sparked discussions about Uganda’s role in East African politics.
